Canticum Novum: a WELS
chamber choir is accepting auditions from WELS members for all voice part:
soprano, alto, tenor, and bass.
Audition materials
should include:
- a
cover letter explaining past and present voice or choir experiences;
- cassette
tape or CD (CD preferred) containing:
- spoken
introduction including name, hometown, and voice part;
- one
prepared solo (art song, 2 verses of a hymn, etc.);
- scales
or arpeggios displaying range and flexibility;
- two
vocalises that you feel show your voice at its best.
Please also limit any
processing of the sound, (i.e. excess reverb or EQ) since this makes it
difficult to evaluate a singer's performance, voice, etc. Make certain that
the audio quality is high and that the CD has been finalized to play in all
CD players.
Auditions should be
postmarked by September 18, 2011. Mail audition materials to:

Singers will be notified
by October 2, 2011, the status of their audition. Call backs will be
held Saturday Oct. 30, 2011, at Wisconsin Lutheran High School,
Milwaukee. Those singers unable to attend the call back may make other
arrangements with Michael J. Goede.
All submitted materials
become the property of Canticum Novum: a WELS chamber choir and will not be
returned.
